Happy March! Our monthly luncheon will be March 17th at the La Pine Senior Center. It’s St. Patrick’s Day, which means corned beef on the menu. Bingo starts at 12:45 pm and I can already hear SRWC members yelling “BINGO”.
Volunteering is one of ways that you can contribute to the SRWC. We have almost 300 members and it takes very close to 100% participation to put on all our fundraising and social events from the Art Fair to the Art Auction & Wine Event to the Winter Gala to Kid’s Day and Twilight Cinemas. We also need volunteers to lead hikes, lead winter fun activities and Loose Cannon events, volunteer at the Community Picnic, host a birthday lunch and run a book club. For the SRWC, it takes a village (or our members) to make all our events successful. If you attended the Volunteer Open House for the Art Fair and Art Auction & Wine Event, you may have already signed up to volunteer. However, we also need volunteers for other events, i.e., the Community Picnic. Power of 100+ voting started in February and continued until early March. On March 8, at Past SRWC President Debbie Dunham’s house, there will be a kick-off event to announce the winner of our next Power of 100+ grant. All members are encouraged to attend and bring a friend or two. We would love to make this a community fundraiser! Power of 100+ = 100+ people who donate $100 each = $10,000+!
The New Member event is scheduled for Monday, March 23 at my house. If you are a new member for the 2019-2020 membership year, you will be receiving an email from me. If you do not, please contact me at email@example.com.
